Framed by willow-lined swales and the park’s mature tree planting the two new office blocks at 400 Longwater Avenue provide a complementary addition to Green Park. The scheme’s central pedestrian and vehicular avenue directs visitors into the site, where the urban character of the front entrances links the two buildings together. Open air garden rooms provide a linear landscape running between the front and the rear of the two buildings; seating elements are set back from the path to provide space for informal meetings and refreshment breaks. At its eastern end the garden rooms dramatically open onto the wide expanse of Longwater, with an elevated viewing platform at this vantage point sitting proud of the adjoining perimeter footpath; this view of the lake is emphasised by a framing structure. A perimeter winter footpath is accessed from wings on either side of the raised decking extending in front of the buildings.
