Place have designed a unique urban landscape as part of a new hotel development at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. The hotel drop-off and porte cochere have been re-imagined as a dynamic urban plaza. To one side a water cascade falls six meters down a glittering woven steel curtain into a reflecting pool; linking the plaza with the upper dining terrace and entrance to the ExCeL Centre. The materiality and linear patternation have been designed in close collaboration with Architects, drawing the plaza through to the lush restaurant gardens which extend along the southern facade.
